The committee includes district staff, parents, and community members in relevant roles for the advancement of district strategies.

The Morgan Hill Unified School District (MHUSD) is excited to announce the selection of twelve esteemed members to serve on the Budget Advisory Committee (BAC). This group is comprised of dedicated parents representing elementary, middle, high school, and K-8/Alternative Education sectors, as well as respected Board, employment group and community members who collectively reflect the diverse demographics of our district.

The BAC will play a vital role in providing insights and feedback on fiscal matters to help shape the district's budget. The committee’s primary responsibilities include attending all scheduled meetings, gathering input from and sharing updates with their constituents, and adhering to established BAC norms. Each year, the committee will assist in formulating recommendations that align with the Board of Education’s strategic budget priorities, based on the district's evolving needs. The BAC's role is advisory only, and its recommendations are not binding on the Board.

This year’s selection process was conducted by the Ad Hoc Committee, consisting of MHUSD Board President Adam Escoto, Vice President Nancy Altman, Trustee Rosales Montes, and Superintendent Dr. Carmen García. To maintain impartiality, the committee reviewed all applications with names redacted to ensure an unbiased evaluation. The process followed guidelines established by the Ad Hoc Committee in June.

The term for the committee members runs through December 2024. We appreciate their commitment to volunteer their time and expertise in support of our mission to provide high-quality public education for every student in the district.
