We wanted to take a moment to update you on an important change in our approach to TK (Transitional Kindergarten) and Kindergarten student recruitment for the upcoming school year. We have previously organized a Kindergarten Round Up event to introduce prospective students and their families to our school district. However, this year, we are excited to announce a new initiative: School Site Tours.

The decision to transition from Kinder Round Up to School Site Tours was made with the goal of providing families with a more personalized and in-depth introduction to our schools. We believe this change will offer families a richer and more informative experience as they consider enrolling their child in our TK or Kindergarten programs.

Here's what families can expect from our School Site Tours:

• Personalized Experience: During the School Site Tours, families will have the opportunity to visit the specific school their child may be attending. This will give families a chance to see the classrooms and gain a better understanding of the school's environment.

• Meet the Educators: Our dedicated staff members will be available at the beginning and end of the tour to answer any questions families may have about the curriculum, extracurricular activities, and the support systems we have in place to ensure their child's success.

• Parent Information Sessions: In addition to the tours, we will host information sessions where families can learn about the registration process, important dates, and any other vital information related to enrolling their child in TK or Kindergarten. Please look for additional information coming soon.

• Interactive Experience: We encourage families to actively engage in the tour, ask questions, and get a sense of the educational atmosphere that our schools provide.

To facilitate this change, we have organized a School Site Tours schedule for all school sites with TK or Kindergarten. School Site Tours will be available from December through April on the first school week of the month, specifically on Tuesday at 9 a.m. and Thursday at 12 p.m. We have chosen these dates and times to accommodate different schedules and ensure that as many families as possible can participate.

We understand that choosing the right educational environment for your child is a significant decision. We believe that the transition to School Site Tours will offer families a better glimpse into what our schools have to offer, and we look forward to assisting families in making the right choice for their child's education.

Please mark your calendars and plan to join us for the School Site Tours. We are excited to welcome incoming TK and Kindergarten families and provide them with a warm and informative experience.

Morgan Hill Unified School District is hosting a series of community forums to get input from parents, students, and other educational partners that will help guide the development of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The forums provide an opportunity to learn more about LCAP goals and data, highlight successes, and share areas identified for growth. Following a brief presentation, attendees will participate in a guided yet collaborative discussion where they can provide input to help develop the district’s future academic goals and identify potential challenges to academic success. We invite you to join us!
